Chemotherapy - one of the three legally sanctioned highly toxic cancer treatments - the other two are surgery and radiotherapy - has often been depicted in graphic terms including “barbaric, medieval, crimes against humanity, genocide”[1]. Lord Maurice Saatchi’s beloved wife Josephine Hart died in 2011 from inoperative and terminal ovarian cancer following chemotherapy and radiation treatments which he describes as "medieval, "degrading and ineffective” in interviews and articles published in the mainstream media.[2,3] Maurice (Lord) Saatchi’s Medical Innovation Bill has been redrafted after a public consultation organised by the UK Department of Health (DH)[4] and went to committee stage in the House of Lords on 24th October 2014.[5]
